The Area Borla is a typically small village within the province of Piacenza in the Emilia Romagna region, 10 minutes' drive from the nearest town of Vernasca. Borla and the surrounding area will appeal to those keen to experience the traditional Italian way of life, whether it be mingling with the locals and sampling the cuisine in the weekly markets, playing a hand of cards at the local bar or enjoying a waltz at the many village 'festas' held throughout the year.

There are many places of interest to visit, each offering their own insight into the region; from the historic castle at nearby Vigoleno, the spa town of Salsomaggiore to the university city of Parma (reputed to be the wealthiest town in Northern Italy). The diversity of its attractions appeals to all kinds of people, including artists, cyclists, hikers and historians.
